Asia has quietly become the busiest continent on the nomad event calendar. Japan alone runs three long-stay festivals, Korea's city governments now fund workation cohorts, and the region hosts everything from a 400-person festival in Da Nang to a 15-seat finale on a volcanic island off Taiwan.

This guide lists every event in Asia with organizer-confirmed dates for 2026/27, sorted by what they actually are: conferences, festivals, and coliving camps. Because the months between big events matter too, we added the weekly meetup scenes in the hub cities, and the cultural dates you genuinely need to plan around (one of them shuts down an entire island, airport included). 🇹🇭 Nomad Summit & Nomad Week in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Southeast Asia's biggest nomad conference (running since 2015) has grown into a full nine days for 2027: a welcome evening on January 15, two conference days on January 16 and 17, a 48-hour Buildathon with local Thai talent, and a community Nomad Week through January 24. Tickets from €249. Mid-January is also Chiang Mai at its objective best: dry, cool, and before burning season.

🇹🇭 CosmoLocal CNX Main Week in Chiang Mai, Thailand

The culmination of a month-long September pop-up village in Wat Ket: six days of keynotes, workshops, a hackathon, and a community potluck, run with Alt_Coliving and bridging the international and Thai communities. Passes from about €325 (local passes cheaper). Transparency note: Genki is among the backers, and the event made this list on the same criteria as every other entry.

One more for the calendar-watchers: the World Nomad Conference on September 30, 2026 gathers community leaders from Bansko to Da Nang inside Colive Fukuoka, free to attend. And Running Remote, the big remote-work business conference that once called Bali home, has not announced a 2027 edition yet, so it stays off this list until it has a date.

🎪 Nomad festivals and community gatherings

🇯🇵 Hiroshima Setouchi Nomad Fest in Hiroshima and Matsuyama, Japan

Three weeks built around Yohaku, the blank space that lets you live in a place rather than conference through it. The urban leg runs in Hiroshima City October 11 to 25, then the whole festival crosses the Inland Sea by ferry for the slow nature leg in Matsuyama and the Setouchi islands until November 1. Passes per leg from about €225 to 275, All Access about €350 (September discount until Sep 30). Accommodation and coworking not included.

🇰🇷 Incheon Autumn Workation in Songdo, South Korea

Korea's city-government-backed answer to Colive Fukuoka: a two-week cohort in the futuristic Songdo district with coworking days, talks, a weekend on Ganghwa Island, and the Korea Nomad Fest running inside the program window. Entry is application-based and pricing was not published at the time of writing, so apply early and confirm the conditions.

🇵🇭 Nomads in Paradise on Siargao, Philippines

Ten days on the Philippines' surf island, capped at 150 people: morning talks, coworking, surf sessions, a wellness day, and an island-hopping finale, deliberately bridging international nomads and Filipino professionals. Tickets from about €47 (social pass) to €160 (gold), rising at the door.

🇻🇳 Da Nang Nomad Fest in Da Nang, Vietnam

The big festival format comes back to Vietnam: ten days, 400+ attendees from 70+ countries, 40+ speakers, an AI Day, a hackathon, day trips to Hoi An, and the famous pickleball tournament. 🇹🇼 Taiwan Digital Fest in East Taiwan

Taiwan's three-act festival across the wild east coast: two weeks in Hualien with a crew of about 40, four weeks in Taitung rotating through four zones with 200+ programs, and a 15-seat finale on Green Island with coral snorkeling and a rare seabed hot spring. Each act has its own ticket. Dates and locations are locked, and the discount ladder is live: 50% off until November 1, 2026, shrinking stepwise until April.

The format Asia does better than anywhere: everyone books the same coliving for a few weeks and the program happens around the work.

🇯🇵 Colive Fukuoka in Fukuoka, Japan

The gold standard of the genre. Ten days in Japan's fastest-growing startup city, run alongside the RAMEN TECH conference: 100+ events, the Ikigai Academy, the Synapse Festival, and a Nomad Impact Summit, with nearly 500 participants from 57 nationalities last year. The 2026 edition opens September 30 (party plus the World Nomad Conference) with the main program October 1 to 10. Standard pass €449.40, Premium €899 (15 slots). Builders can extend: the Fukuoka Builders Coliving adds four days in regional towns through October 14.

🇯🇵 Alt_Popup Kotohira in Shikoku, Japan

Chiang Mai's Alt_Coliving takes twelve people to a temple town on Shikoku for a month: accommodation, 24/7 coworking, an udon-making school, and excursions included, from about €1,300 for the month in a dorm. Small by design, and exactly the "book the same place, become a crew" format this section is about. Alt_ also runs dated solopreneur coliving cohorts back home in Chiang Mai, plus weekly community events year-round.

Two more worth knowing without fixed 2027 dates yet: KoHub on Koh Lanta runs its whole season (November to April) as one long community program with weekly events rather than a dated camp, and Osaka's FUTRFEST (the September 2026 edition just ran) typically returns each spring, so watch futrworks.com if Kansai is on your route. ☕ The weekly meetup scenes between the big events

The festivals get the headlines, but Asia's hub cities run on weekly fixtures you can walk into any week of the year.

• Chiang Mai: the original. The Nomad Coffee Club and a cluster of Meetup groups keep multiple weekly fixtures going, Alt_ and Yellow both host community events, and every January the whole city peaks around Nomad Week. Base reading: Thailand for nomads.
• Canggu, Bali: Dojo Bali curates hundreds of events a year across knowledge, networking, and giving-back categories, with a strict no-selling policy that keeps the quality up. Base reading: Bali for nomads.

🗓️ Plan around it: the dates that move your calendar

Not events to attend, dates to respect:

• Nyepi, Bali: March 8, 2027. The Balinese day of silence shuts down the entire island for 24 hours from 6 am, airport included, and mobile data is switched off island-wide. No flights, no traffic, no leaving your accommodation. The Ogoh-Ogoh parades the evening before are spectacular, then plan a full offline day.
• Lunar New Year: February 6, 2027. Vietnam's Tet means roughly a week of closures and the year's biggest travel crunch across Vietnam and China. Book transport weeks ahead or arrive after.
• Ramadan 2027: roughly February 8 to March 9 (moon-sighting dependent). In Malaysia and Indonesia expect altered opening hours, daytime dining discretion, and an Eid travel surge at the end. Unusually, it starts days after Lunar New Year, making February 2027 a double planning month.
• Songkran, Thailand: April 13 to 15, 2027. The nationwide water festival. Everything closes, everything gets soaked, laptops stay home. Chiang Mai celebrates longest. Either embrace it fully or schedule your deep work week elsewhere.

🌏 One last thing

You could ride this calendar for a year without leaving Asia: Fukuoka in October, a Shikoku temple town in November, Chiang Mai in January, Da Nang in March, and Taiwan through May.
